Card Familiar ("we", "our", "the app") is a trading card game companion app. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Data: Email address, display name, and username when you create an account.

Collection Data: Card collection information, deck lists, draft logs, pod/playgroup data, and game session records you create within the app.

Card Photos (Optional): When you use the card scanner, compressed photos of your physical cards may be saved to help with future condition grading. You control this via the "Save card photos when scanning" setting.

Usage Data: Anonymous analytics about app usage patterns to improve the product. We do not track individual behavior.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide app functionality:

• Authenticating your account
• Storing and displaying your card collections, decks, and game data
• Providing AI-powered card identification and deck suggestions
• Calculating collection value using public pricing data
• Syncing your data across devices

Third-Party Services

Card Familiar uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) — Your account data and collections are stored on Supabase infrastructure. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (AI features) — Card photos sent for AI identification are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. Photos are not retained by Anthropic after processing. See Anthropic Privacy Policy.
• Scryfall (card data) — Card names, images, and pricing are sourced from Scryfall's public API. No user data is sent to Scryfall.
• EDHREC (meta/popularity data) — Deck popularity data is sourced from EDHREC's public API. No user data is sent to EDHREC.

Data Retention

Your data is stored as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (collections, decks, photos, game logs) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings > Edit Profile > Delete Account. You can also delete individual collections, decks, or photos at any time within the app.

Data Export

You can export your collection data as CSV files from Settings > Import / Export at any time.

Children's Privacy

Card Familiar is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

GDPR (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Request a portable copy of your data
• Object to processing of your data

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected about you
• Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom
• Say no to the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)

• Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security policies on all database tables, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.
